HTC TattooThe HTC Tattoo got priced up on Vodafone today, and while the lil’ Android blower is great news if you want to pick up a smartphone on contract on the cheap, there’s a downside too: the HTC Tattoo won’t also be dropping on Pay As You Go.

The HTC Tattoo will be free on contract on Voda, but we’ve now confirmed that there are no plans to sell it on PAYG too. That’s a surprise, as the HTC Tattoo is the smallest, lowest spec Android phone yet, so it’s prime to light up the PAYG market even more than the T-Mobile Pulse.

HTC Tattoo priced for the UK

Vodafone hasn’t ruled out a future PAYG release for the HTC Tattoo, but as it stands now, if you want to get all your social network streams flowing on in to your phone without wading into direct debit headaches, you’ll have to stick with Huawei’s effort or the INQ Mini 3G.
