Spotify is unleashing its offline service today, letting premium punters access their favourite tunes and playlists without being connected to the web. The move comes after Spotify confirmed to us last month that it was working on a solution for letting paying customers listen to music offline. So how does it work? While Spotify offline is already a raging success on the iPhone, letting you listen to tracks when you can’t get a signal, the move to PC is massive. Quite simply, Spotify premium users only need to click the new “available offline” button next to their playlists, which is being added “this afternoon,” according to an official statement.
When we first revealed plans for Spotify offline for PC, we discovered the rejigged terms and conditions allowed you to, “store cached content on up to three PCs and three mobile handsets.” It puts huge pressure on the likes of iTunes and 7Digital, with customers no longer needing the internet to play nice with Spotify.
