GTA Chinatown Wars for iPhone a tad too up–to–date for your on–the–go gaming tastes? Then how about a ream of Commodore 64 classics to while away the hours on the morning commute? After Apple’s initial reluctance, the C64 iPhone app has been given the nod. Read on and see just what old–school games will be satisfying your retro appetite.
Getting stuck into The Secret of Monkey Island for iPhone has surely given you an appetite for something even cooler. Handy then that the C64 iPhone app has landed, after Apple rejected its earlier advances for SDK violations.
Now new tweaks mean you can hop onto the App Store now and nab the C64 iPhone app for just £2.99. For the price of a pint, you’ll get 5 games including Dragon’s Den, Le Mans, Jupiter Lander, Arctic Shipwreck and Jack Attack. Extra games including Commodore Sports Pack I will be landing soon.
It’s a move that makes perfect sense and once again shows Apple’s blower slapping down the Nintendo DSi and PSPgo. Anyway, we’re off to snag the C64 iPhone app now and make like it’s 1987.

Acccording to Kyu Uhm, head of worldwide sales and marketing for Samsung Computing Division, a Samsung OLED laptop should hit shelves by 2010.
“Samsung is the largest OLED screen manufacturer. And as soon as it’s available commercially for laptops we will adopt it…Probably sometime Q3 next year,” he let slip at IFA.
FIngers crossed folks. Samsung is already making OLED standard into its new touch phones, and even some cameras, so a Samsung OLED laptop wouldn’t come as a surprise. Better picture, better battery life, what’s to lose? Chop chop Samsung.

So, you’ve already snaffled yourself that TomTom iPhone app. But following its instructions while you hurtle along the motorway isn’t exactly easy when you’ve got your precious Apple blower sellotaped to the windscreen. Relief for you then, as TomTom has confirmed its Car Kit for iPhone for October.
TomTom’s Car Kit for iPhone promises to make its App–based sibling sing. It’ll provide a snug home for your iPhone 3GS and according to top brass at the Dutch mapping fans, will also work with 3rd party GPS goodies, like the CoPilot iPhone app.
That’s great news, especially as TomTom’s own holding page says the Car Kit will be sold minus the TomTom iPhone app. So if you don’t fancy stumping up £59.99 for UK and Ireland maps, but still want a nice sucker and attachment for your motor, it’s good for you too.
Sadly TomTom hasn’t priced this extra up just yet. But expect it be a tad lower than the initial £113.85 we were quoted last month.
