There’s been a whole heap o’ rumblings coming from the Mac rumour mill recently – chiefly that new iMac and MacBook models are on the way – and here’s another to get Apple fans salivating into their lattes. It seems that supplies of the Mac Mini (and iMac) are dwindling, and future orders will be unfulfilled. Could Apple’s littlest Mac be poised for a journey to Update City?
According to AppleInsider, the Mac Mini, along with all four current iMac models, is rapidly going out of stock at retailers such as Amazon, with no indication of a restock. The rumour site goes on to suggest that the Mac Mini will receive a “more modest” update than the iMac, possibly getting new components and CPUs.
On the iMac front we’ve already heard talk of quad-core processors, SD card slots and a touch-enabled mouse. To add fuel to the fire, reader Sean tells us that an Apple operator advised him to wait before updating his iMac, suggesting that the new range of desktops is very close to launch.
