If your computer’s built-in speakers just aren’t delivering the sonic goods, the LaCie Sound2 speaker setup could be just the ticket. Engineered in collaboration with loudspeaker manufacturer Cabasse, they hook up to any PC or Mac laptop or desktop via USB, serving up what LaCie describes as “hi-fi quality sound”.
There’s also a stereo line input for rigging up other devices, and the speakers can either be powered by USB or by an included external output. The former sounds handy for laptops and netbooks when you’re out and about, while the latter offers superior performance. They can deliver 30W of power at peak output, which isn’t at all bad for a pair of diminutive desktop boxes.
The LaCie Sound2 speakers look the part as well, thanks to some unique styling from industrial designer Neil Poulton. If you like the sound of them (no pun intended), they’re available now from LaCie’s website.
