Shazam and O2 have hopped into bed with each other, offering a new music discovery service. The plan is to get O2′s loyal lot using Shazam’s killer tech to suss out songs and then snaffle them over–the–air.
The awesome Shazam iPhone app has revolutionised the pub quiz and made finding out who sings a shonky tune even easier. But Shazam’s new hook up with O2 could be even cooler, letting punters call a dedicated number to get track information and even buy the tune.
That means rather than powering up an app, O2 customers can call 2580, hold up their cell to the stereo and receive a text with everything about that particular slice of audio gold.
Shazam’s text will also include a link which you can hit up to buy the tune of your choice. Perhaps not when The Birdie Song comes on during an 80s round, but ace if you hear something you have to have.
