O2’s staying cool in the face of Vodafone and Orange laying their paws on the iPhone, saying it won’t be cutting prices to compete with its two Apple–hungry rivals. Keep reading to see what iPhone’s original favourite has to say on this week’s biggest news.
Speaking to our pals at Stuff.tv, an O2 spokesperson said, “There are no plans for price cuts.” And staying cool, the mobile network, which has sold 2 million iPhones since launch, said it wasn’t unduly worried about losing the iPhone.
“It’s business as usual for us,” they said. “We know we only had a two year deal [for the iPhone] so we knew it was coming.” That said, O2 is expecting thousands of iPhone to be returned, with punters who bought in the past two weeks entitled to a refund, according to the Telegraph.

Meanwhile, both Orange and Vodafone have promised “competitive” prices for the iPhone, with the former expected to unveil its plans at a swanky central London event this evening.
Surely, if those tariffs clock in well under O2’s current deal, it’ll have to follow suit. But in the meantime, it appears it’s sitting tight.
