Apple has rehired the man responsible for the infamous Apple Newton tablet, sparking a wave of speculation about an all–new Apple Tablet. Read on to see just what this means for Steve Job’s pet–project.
Michael Tchao has hooked up with Apple, 15 years after he left Cupertino following his involvement in the much–hyped Apple Newton. Packing in handwriting tech, it was well ahead of its time, but just couldn’t do the business.
Now Tchao is back in the Apple fold as Vice President for Product Marketing, having worked at Nike on the Nike+iPod kit. But unsurprisingly, it’s his expected involvement in the all-new Apple tablet that’s got the web in a tizzy.
The suggestion is Tchao will be closely involved in getting the Apple Tablet onto shelves. The most–rumoured gadget ever is due to land in spring next year. If it can match the Apple Newton’s killer product placement in Under Siege 2, then we’ll be very happy indeed.
