Britain’s Best Nintendo Gamer tournament kicks off next month, offering the overall winner a trip for five to Tokyo worth a cool £10k, and 16 finalists the chance to grab every game from the Japanese giant free for a year.

Regional heats for the Nintendo battle royale will see you showing off your skills on Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit, Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros DS. If you ask us, Battle on Super Mario Kart for the SNES is the true test, but hey, we’re purists.
The heats happen over the weekend of 17/18 October, with the grand final going down on 30 October at the Odeon in Covent Garden, London, with Charles Martinez, the voice of Mario, on hand to give out the awards.
