A new iMac all-in-one sporting a thinner shell, ramped up specs and a some extra curveball features is already coming off the factory line, with Apple readying for launch, according to insiders. Want to know what’s in and what’s out with Apple’s tasty tabletop machine? Read on.
Cupertino gossip monger AppleInsider reports that the new dual-core iMac models have been coming off the conveyer belt for a fortnight in preparation for an upcoming launch, based on two sources clued in on the process.
The new iMac models should come in a thinner shell, potentially echoing the Apple Cinema Display monitor in design. That’s about all the moles were prepared to tell about the new iMac range, but another group also chimed in saying there’ll be two new features, one audio related.
Could the other be Blu-ray? Steve Jobs called the HD format a “bag of hurt” this time last year, but perhaps the time has come for Apple to get on board, especially if its all-in-one iMac machines start to look even more like flatscreen TVs. Either way, don’t be too surprised if the Apple store takes itself offline for a few hours soon. But will a new MacBook come with a new iMac, as an analyst predicted this month?
