The HTC Touch2 isn’t scheduled to land until 6 October, but we’ve grabbed one ahead of launch to have a go with. See it come out of its carton right here in our unboxing!
HTC is lining up some tasty budget smartphones for October: along with the Android toting Tattoo, there’s the HTC Touch2, running Windows Mobile 6.5.
From our first play, the HTC Touch2 is a cheap and cheery lil’ WinMo mobile, with a bright 2.8-inch touchscreen, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.2MP camera.
The silver casing on the HTC Touch2 is smooth although we’re a bit puzzled by the gloss over the screen: it looks exactly like a sticky label is plastered across it, even though there’s not.
As for Windows Mobile 6.5? As ever it’s made more bearable with HTC’s TouchFlo interface, but the honeycomb menu Microsoft has brought to the table is pretty slick too. We’re off for a further poke around, but stay tuned for a full HTC Touch2 review!
