The Palm Pre is still headed to the UK in time for the “holidays”, but now we now just when that is. Palm and exclusive network O2 have bumped heads to give us an exact release date so read on to find out when you can pick up a Palm Pre – and for how much.
Sources pegged the Palm Pre for a 30 October release, but the webOS wonder is now going on sale a fortnight before, on 16 October, via O2, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.
And the asking price? The Palm Pre will be free on a 2 year contract, and free on 18 month tariffs at £44.05 or £73.41 per month. Like the iPhone on O2, that does include “unlimited” data and The Cloud and BT OpenZone Wi-Fi access.
The Palm Pre will also ship with the TouchStone wireless charger, which will retail for £44.11.
It’s good to see Palm coming in with the Pre at last, but is the pricing enough to tempt you? We reckon it’ll come down to how the App Catalog takes off. Stay tuned for plenty more coverage of the Palm Pre’s UK launch.
