Nokia’s going back on its word for select Comes With Music subscribers. For once though, that’s a good thing: it’s extending the pass to the year-long, all you can eat tune buffet for another three months for early adopters!
Nokia Comes With Music, the Finn’s year long music package, launched in October last year, so for the first people who took a plate to the counter, their time is almost up. There’s good news for those quick to sign on the dotted line though: those who registered in October 2008 are having their Comes With Music passes extended for another 90 days, or three full months!
If you’re getting the prolonged music pass, you should receive an email soon from the Nokia Comes With Music team. We’re chasing to confirm who benefits: Nokia has told us the complimentary extension is for its “earliest Comes With Music customers” only right now and little more. We have another Comes With Music account that began in December and have yet to receive the email, but then our account isn’t about to expire either.
Does it mean Nokia Comes With Music is succeeding though? The service has been criticised for DRM-locking tunes, and Nokia has cut the price of a pass in a bid to attract more users. But with the Nokia X6 on the horizon, Comes With Music is here to stay. Who are we to mumble about more free music?
