Two new Alienware Area-51 gaming rigs have just debuted alongside the revamped M15x laptop, and they’re the most decked out desktops the company has ever come up with. Put cost aside for a second and read on to find out just what Dell will dish out for you with enough wonga.
We’re getting a little tired of the whole Roswell gimmick Alienware tries on with its desktop line, but the new chassis and specs for the Alienware Area-51 are mind blowing nonetheless.
The liquid cooled Alienware Area-51 comes with a Core i7 chip, just about as many ATI or NVIDIA GPU options as you like, up to 12GB of RAM, six hard drive bays to pop in all the HDD and SSDs you could care for, and twin Blu-ray drives.

It gets better though. There’s also an Alienware Area-51 ALX, which ups the CPU to an incredible overclocked 3.86GHz, with dual GeForce GTX 295 GPUs.
Talk about future proofing. Alienware says the price for the Alienware Area-51 starts at £1,699, and the Alienware Area-51 ALX a stonking £2,899, but as always, if you want the good stuff you’re going to have to add a couple of grand. How much are those extra frames per second worth to you?
