Dell‘s priming a new laptop, the Dell Latitude Z, for launch later this year, but unlike most of the other Windows 7 newby machines, it doesn’t try to stand out with multitouch, just for the sake of it. Nope: Dell’s promising hi-tech wireless skills, including cordless charging to sling ‘leccy over the air.
Dell’s been struggling in recent years, losing a large chunk of the PC market share to the likes of HP, but according to Forbes, it’s readying a new Dell Latitude Z business laptop to get it back in the game, with “advanced wireless capabilities”, potentially “even wireless charging”.
That means you could soon pop your laptop down on your desk and start pumping in the juice without the need for a plug, similar to the Touchstone accessory sold for the Palm Pre smartphone in the US.
There’s no word on an official release date for the Dell Latitude Z laptop, but the report says it will be unveiled in the coming weeks, and will cost fair bit more than a $1,100 (£670) machine. Fingers crossed it’s slightly more powerful than the Adamo, mind.
