swine-flu-iphone-appGetting panicked about whether you’re next in line for a dose of swine flu? Well if you’re packing an iPhone, you can keep on your guard, thanks to a new app which maps outbreaks of the dreaded H1N1 strain, as well as other big time lurgies. Still scared? Then you’d better keep reading.

The concept behind the swine flu iPhone app, known as HealthMap: Outbreaks Near Me, is simple. Load it up on your iPhone and it’ll plot outbreaks of the virus in real time in your area.

On top of that you can search for details about outbreaks of swine flu across the country and even set up alerts via the swine flu iPhone app which tell you when a new case has been reported. If that pandemic gets nasty again, your Apple blower will be abuzz every few minutes, make no mistake.

As well as tracking swine flu, HealthMap is also tracking cases of measles and the e.Coli outbreak near Plymouth. The US doctor behind the swine flu iPhone app says it will soon be landing on BlackBerry and Android too. So if you’re non–Apple, you’re protected too.
