Sony A-Series Walkman packs OLED screen

Sony’s just pulled the dust sheets off the Sony A-Series Walkman, a brand new model without all the frills of the X Series, but an even slimmer shell and that gorgeous OLED display intact. Read on to cram your pupils with the pics!

The Sony A-Series Walkman looks remarkably like the super speakered S540 range just released here, but there’s been some major tinkering under the bonnet. As well as capacities from 16 all the way to 64GB, there’s TV out, and all of the Sony A-Series Walkman line come with a 2.8-inch OLED screen for jawdropping colours.

Did we mention that’s Sony’s done all this, and also managed to make the Sony A-Series Walkman its thinnest ever, at 7.2mm? Not bad if you don’t need the app store access of an iPod touch.

The Sony A-Series Walkman goes on sale in Japan from 31 October, with prices starting at around £160 and stretching up to £270 for the 64GB, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we get wind of a UK release.
