Palm Pre up for pre-order

Palm PrePalm’s still keeping its cards close to its chest on the Palm Pre UK release date, but a few online retailers have priced up the webOS wonder and stuck it up for pre-order already. Read on to see how much cash you’ll be shovelling over for a SIM-less Pre.

We were more than a bit gutted to find the GSM Palm Pre models on show yesterday were still pre-production, but it looks like Palm could still be gunning for that rumoured October release. Several e-tailers have slapped the Palm Pre up for sale, with Handtec charging £517.49, and m-Phone a cheaper £450.

Neither site gives a release date for the Palm Pre, and m-Phone even gets a few specs wrong (Mini SD slot? Er, nope), but Handtec promises orders coming in “soon”.

Surprisingly, Expansys actually hasn’t  jumped the gun with a Palm Pre release date so we still wouldn’t get the credit card out just yet, but if you’re coming to the end of your contract, it could be worth holding on a bit longer for an iPhone rival.
