RIM rarely manages to blind side us with a new BlackBerry model thanks to a lot of well hidden moles in the ranks at Waterloo, but it looks like it’s going for a different tactic in the future: releasing so many, we all lose count. Yup, an insider claims that as many as 16 new BlackBerry email machines are on the way next year. Read on for the full info.
Remember that massive early hands-on video of the BlackBerry Storm 2 that leaked last month? The insider responsible has just come back with a fresh batch of rumours, including word that RIM will release 16 BlackBerry phones next year. Compare that to this year’s tally (The Tour and the Curve 8520, and potentially the Storm 2 and Bold 2), and you can see that RIM’s ramping up its plans for world domination.

The leaker also had a few more details on some models nearer release, including the BlackBerry Essex, a US model with 3G and Wi-Fi, plus an “extra surprise” (Probably not a free pair of white stilettos).
The most promising though is the BlackBerry Striker 9100, a 3G device with a trackpad and a slimmer shell then the Bold2. Bring’em all on, we say, but RIM, please don’t forget to sort the BlackBerry browser out while you’re at it, would you? Ta.
