Facebook is changing. And we’re not just talking about its new cash rich status or the advent of Facebook Lite. With new apps being added all the time, the social network causes plenty of huffing amongst users. So its planning to bring everyone into the fold with Facebook Prototypes. Read on for the details.
The concept behind Facebook Prototypes is simple. As devs at Facey–B strive to improve the site, they work on stacks of new ideas. And they want feedback. So now you can sign up and test early software and see what you think.
In a blog post, Facebook’s Lee Byron explained exactly what it’s all about. “Facebook Prototypes let us share the experimentation going on inside the walls of Facebook with the rest of the world. You’ll be able to test any of the products and features we launch as Facebook Prototypes and then provide feedback directly to those of us who built them.”
Byron has cited Desktop Notifications for Mac as a key example. And that’s just one of many you can lay your mitts on right now by signing up for Facebook Prototypes. All you need to do is head to the Application Directory and filter by Prototypes.
It sounds awesome. Sometimes you can’t beat bragging to your pals about the killer new tools you’re running that makes their obsession with Facebook Lite look old hat.
