zune-hdApple may be having it all its own way on planet gaming right now, thanks to the iPod touch. But Microsoft has just kicked off what’s set to be a battle royal for your handheld hang time, unleashing gaming plans for the Zune HD? What’s the deal? Keep reading and see.

Microsoft isn’t holding back when it comes to its gaming plans for the Zune HD. In an official statement, the Big M has said that some basic games will already come preloaded onto the OLED–packing PMP.

But the real juicy stuff is all about plans for “fun 3D games” on the Zune HD. These will include Project Githam Racing: Ferrari Edition, Vans Sk8: Poll Service and Audiosurf Tilt.


Microsoft hints at Zune HD UK plans


And that’s not all, Microsoft says games will be available via Zune Marketplace over Wi–Fi, throwing the gauntlet down to Apple and its uber–successful App Store.

While a UK release remains elusive, the Redmond has said it’s got plans to bring the Zune HD to Blighty in the future. It can’t come soon enough.
