Harman Kardon Gla-55 speakers priced and dated

Let’s get the Indiana Jones jokes out of the way first, shall we? The Harman Kardon GLA-55 speakers do look exactly like the crystal skulls Harrison Ford faffed around with in last year’s blockbuster. These PC speakers don’t suck you in to an alien dimension, but they do offer you some of the best, classiest sonics for your desktop ever. The most expensive too, as we’ve just been staring goggle-eyed at the pricetag. Read on to find out when you can nab them.

The Harman Kardon GLA-55 speakers are made of perspex rather than glass, but they still give you the transparent effect so in vogue right now. They’re designed for close up acoustics, so you don’t want these hooked up to your hi-fi or surround sound set up, but if you want to pimp out your PC, the Harman Kardon GLA-55 speakers are the way to go.

If you’ve got a spare £700 to throw at the problem, that is. Despite being previewed at IFA 2008, the price hasn’t been brought down too much, and the Harman Kardon GLA-55 speakers will set you back a full 700 notes per pair when they finally go on sale in the UK in November. Worth it? Have a look and see for yourself in our gallery.
