Wondering whether Apple is ever going to bother unleashing a new Apple TV? Well it seems the wait for a new slice of Cupertino–based telly goodness isn’t far off. Jobs and co have just killed off the 40GB Apple TV and slashed the price of the 160GB model. So does this mean there’s newbie on the way? Read on and find out.
The 40GB Apple TV is dead. Well in the US at least. The pared down version of Apple’s set top box has gone to gadget heaven, while the 160GB model is now down to $299.
This leaves room for a pricier, 250GB model, which is surely only round the corner. The Apple TV has had the same look since it was first spotted nearly three years ago, and although the software’s had a tickle, it could use another look.
Perhaps the release of iTunes 9 means we’re about to see a whole new look for Apple TV. There’s no word on any UK price cuts yet, but we’ve got our eyes clamped on the UK store, so stay tuned for updates.
