The slimmed down version of Facebook, Facebook Lite is rolling out today. Rocking a slimmed down look, without apps and games, the idea is to keep things moving along at a faster speed, so it can work better in countries where bandwidth blows.
Facebook Lite to take on Twitter?
At the moment, Facebook Lite is only available in the US and India, although the site’s suits say that it will be getting an international roll out. It appears the initial plan to only drop it in developing countries has been scrapped as users clamour for something lightweight and speedier.
So far, reviews of Facebook Lite are positive, with punters saying the return to something simpler makes the site look and feel far better than the current messy design.
