As if Activision didn’t have enough to worry about, what with The Beatles: Rock Band stealing the show from Guitar Hero 5. Now Courtney Love, not unknown for picking her battles, has said she’s suing the rock–loving game maker over Kurt Cobain’s avatar in Guitar Hero . Read on for Love’s full, four–letter attack.
When we had a first play with Guitar Hero 5, Activision was doing its best to big up Kurt Cobain’s appearance in the rejigged title. It seems that Courtney Love, though, is less than impressed.
“For the record, this Guitar Hero s*** is breach of contract on a bully’s part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction. We are going to sue the s*** out of Activision,” said Love via Twitter, of course.
Love had been involved in plans to bring Cobain to Guitar Hero for three years, but it seems the results are not good enough for her tastes. Apparently Kurt’s GH5 skills extending to playing non–Nirvana tracks are part of the problem.
Personally we found playing Ring of Fire with an angry grunge god at the helm quite amusing. It seems Activision will be paying the price for this mischievous approach, though.
