iPod touch 64GB unboxed!

It’s bigger, it’s better, it’s the iPod touch 64GB and it’s in our hands right now. We’ve pulled it out of its box already for you to check it out up close – sure, we’re hurting from the lack of a camera, but are the pumped up processor and better graphics enough to make up for it? Read on and see for yourself!

The way Apple quietly announced the new iPod touch 64GB last night, it was almost as if it was an anti-climax. There was no “one more thing” fanfare for the iPhone’s brother, just a quick mention of an upgrade. But although the new iPod touch doesn’t bring anything new to the design table, it’s still a major update we’re crazy about.

That 64GB of storage is a whole lot of space to play with (8 times what the cheapest iPod touch now ships with), and the internal upgrade means it matches the iPhone 3GS for speed. If you had your eye on an iPod Classic before, the new iPod touch 64GB is so spacious it should tempt all but the most hardcore of music obsessives now.

We’ll have a full review of the new iPod touch 64GB up shortly, but in the meantime, help your pupils to all the unboxing photos they could want right here!

Obviously James Braselton is mentally disabled, so I will leave that post alone, but I don’t know if I would really be excited about 64gb. Whether it is flash or hard drive based, it’s not enough space for serious music fans who may be thinking of ditching their classic for a touch. Even 80gb is not enough but I am definitely not going to purchase the “new” 160gb ipod. Apple has sort of underwhelmed everyone with this product.

I have a 80GB classic iPod. I’ll probably buy the 64GB iPod Touch and put most of my songs on it and leave all of my songs on my 80GB. iPod Touch looks great

seriously this is what apple should of released when the touch first came out. the thing that kept me from buying a touch was te lack of memory. 8 – 32 gb is seriously not enough. i could buy a 80 gb classic for cheaper then the touch. all the touch is to me is a waste of money i mean do any of you know apple dose not insure the damn touch screen. i mean if you honestly need something to use aim check email or stuff like that get a cell phone or better yet use a comp overall i recomend the classic over the touch.

Price/size of SSD is what stopped Apple and others going this big until recently. It does depend what you want though – there’s no denying video is better on a touch than a Classic. But if you’re a straight up audiophile with an enormous library, yes, the Classic still can’t be beat.
