Medion Akoya Mini 1315Medion‘s not one to sit about and wait for MSI to trot out its touchscreen netbook rival to the Eee PC T91, so it’s gone and made one of its own instead. Out of an MSI netbook. Now why didn’t MSI think of that?

Le Monde Numerique across the Channel has had a prod with the Medion Akoya Mini 1315, a netbook with all the specs of the MSI Wind U120 lil laptop, like an AMD Neo chip, 2 gigs of RAM and ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 graphics. It just also happens to have a touchscreen in too.

MSI touchscreen netbook incoming

Cast your mind back to earlier this year when we first got to grips with the pokeable Eee PC T91, and you’ll recall we were actually quite taken by how intuitive tapping through on websites was on the netbook. And since the Medion Akoya Mini 1315 has a bigger 11.6-inch screen, we’d expect that experience to be even better.

The frogs say the Medion Akoya Mini 1315 should be out this year for around €600 (£520), but for us rosbifs nothing’s confirmed yet. Keep a keen eye though: the Medion Akoya Mini 1315 could turn up on a supermarket shelf near you shortly.
