Ever headed to the personal shopping section when out buying clobber? Nope, us neither. Perhaps that’s why we always look like we’ve dressed in the dark. However, Debenhams is trialling a new service that uses Twitter so you can hassle their assistants for sartorial advice. Read on to see how you can start getting dressed by strangers, social–networking style.
The tie up between Twitter and Debenhams is simple. The high street department store is kitting out staff in its London Oxford Street store with Twitter–packing BlackBerrys. All you need to do is grab their info and tweet them while you struggle to squeeze into those skinny jeans.
The idea is to keep staff on their toes and use Twitter to help you buy clothes. And by extension fill Debenhams’ coffers during their “megaday” sale, which kicks off tomorrow.
It’s certainly a novel move. And if it means using our Twitter–addiction to learn how to tie our laces and jettison that free Sandisk T shirt we love to rock, then even better.
