PS3 SlimWith the PS3 Slim launch and an Xbox 360 Elite price cut all going down in the space of a week, picking which HD console to go for hasn’t been made any easier. If you’re wondering which did better in the Bank Holiday rush though, here’s your answer: the PS3 Slim, and by a country mile.

ChartTrack, which monitors sales of console hardware in the UK, says that the PS3 Slim rejuvenated Sony sales, boosting them up more than 999 percent. How does that compare to the Xbox? Although ChartTrack wouldn’t give out hard stats, it did let slip that PS3 Slim beat it, and the Wii and DS Lite too, by around three to one.

Stats, of course, cut both ways: it could mean that people prefer a PS3 Slim to a cheaper Xbox, or it could simply mean that anyone with their eyes on an Xbox Elite has already snapped one up. Will the Sony PS3 Slim sales hold up until Crimbo though? We’ll keep a keen eye.
