Toshiba has just beaten Apple to the tablet punch, unleashing its own JournE Touch tablet here at IFA. The new slab of gadget goodness promises to offer a slew of killer features as well as super fast web access. Want to know more? Course you do, so keep on reading.
The JournE Touch is certainly not short on specs. Packing Windows CE and an ARM processor, with HD playback and Toshiba media controller, it promises to offer up speedy web access via Wi-Fi when you can’t be faffed to fire up your PC.
On top of that, the JournE Touch will rock a 7–inch, LED backlit screen and measure a mere 14mm thin, tipping the scales at just 400g. Tosh says it’ll land in aluminium first, with a slew of colours set to follow. TV fans will be able to hook it up to their gogglebox via specially designed cradle.
Toshiba also reckons the JournE Touch will be the first of a string of tablets it releases. There are already plans for models packing bigger screens. Apple, it’s time for you to fire back.
