toshiba-bdx2000Toshiba took a bruising over HD-DVD’s battle with Blu-ray, but now it’s fighting back with its first ever Blu-ray player, the Toshiba BDX2000, and it’s a doozie. Fully-featured and with looks to turn heads. Now we know the full spec, and availability across Europe.

The Toshiba BDX2000 is no slouch. As well as packing in Blu-ray playback and DVD upscaling there’s support for DivX HD and AVCHD, ready to play back HD footage direct from camcorders.

There’s also 24fps True Cinema output and support for bitstream audio output via HDMI. As you’d expect, it’s running the latest Blu-ray profile 2.0 software, opening up BonusView features and BD Live for interactive features.

There’s also an SD card slot and HDMI 1.3 with Regza Link built in. The company says the Toshiba BDX2000 will be “available across Europe at the end of this year or beginning of next year, depending on the country.”
