Sony readies 3D TV

Sir Howard StringerSony is planning to launch its first 3D TV as soon as next year, according to documents spied ahead of Sony’s IFA keynote. Read on to find out what the Japanese giant’s goals are for the extra dimension.

Sony CEO and everyone’s favourite uncle, Sir Howard Stringer, will tell attendees at the leccy show in Berlin that Sony will step in to 3D TV by the end of 2010, according to the Financial Times.

“The the 3D train is on the track and we at Sony are ready to drive it home,” Stringer will say in his speech.

We’ve got our fingers crossed for a Sony 3D TV to check that new 3D Sky channel on the way, and we’ll be sure to let you know once things get official. Let’s just hope Sony can kick 3D TV in to the mainstream faster than it can OLED, eh?
