Sony’s redoubling its efforts to catch and smash the Flip HD and Creative Vado, unleashing its sharp new PM1 Mobile HD Snap Camera. So can it take top spot in the cheap cammie stakes? Read on and we’ll let you know.
Punters after something tastier than the usual fixed focus peepers you find at the bottom of the pile rejoice. The new Sony PM1 Mobile HD Snap Camera looks the absolute part with a 27 degree swivel lens, 5 megapixel sensor for stills and 4x digital zoom to boot.
There are five scene selection modes including auto, sports, landscape, low light and back light, with pics landing straight onto a Memory Stick. What’s more, Sony says you’ll be able to load everything up on your PC or Mac from the PM1 Mobile HD Snap Camera.

There’s direct upload to YouTube, Picasa and Dailymotion. The 1.8–inch screen is a tad on the small side, but with all those features, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
