Acer Aspire Revo 3600 hits back at Eee Box

September 2nd, 2009

Acer Aspire Revo 3600Just a day after Asus redefined what a budget computer box could do, Asus has upped and unleashed its own overhaul, announcing the Acer Aspire Revo 3600, which crams in more kit than Knight Rider. Read on to see just what to expect.

The current Acer Aspire Revo already handles HD video at a chop thanks to the ION graphics grafted on to its innards, but falls down when it comes to tasks barely more basic than loading up Google thanks to the weeny 1.6GHz processor. The Acer Aspire Revo 3600 promises to change that by whacking in an Atom 330 dual core, and 4 whole gigs of RAM.

Yup, the Acer Aspire Revo 3600 rig is almost indentical to the new Asus Eee Box. Why we’re excited though? Acer’s low-end Aspire Revo cost just £150. £150. There’s absolutely no word on release date or price yet, but expect details on the Acer Aspire Revo 3600 to be outed at IFA – we’ve got our limbs crossed for another bargain David Dickinson would be proud of.
