We knew the Canon EOS 7D was coming thanks to some gossip mongers on Chinese forums, and the bean spillers were right on target: Canon’s just upped and outed the Canon EOS 7D DSLR, with fast still shooting and super smooth full HD video. Come check it out in our official photo gallery right here!
If you’re a semi-pro shutterbug, you might have been wooed by Sony’s recent Alpha a850, but although the Canon EOS 7D isn’t similarly full frame, it should still grab your attention from it.
For a few hundred notes less, the Canon EOS 7D gets you an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor with dual DIGIC 4 processors to ream off stills at 8fps, and manual control 1080p HD video at 24fps.

Round the back of the Canon EOS 7D, there’s a 3-inch LCD, and on the inside you’re talking ISO 100-6400, expandable to 12,800. Not a bad package, especially compared to the Nikon D300s, we think you’ll agree. You’ll be able to pick the Canon EOS 7D up in early October in the UK for £1,699.99, a few days after it hits US shelves.
