The Palm Pre UK release date has never been officially confirmed and we have seen rumours claiming everything from September to Christmas. An anonymous tip to on Pre fansite PalmWebOSBlog has thrown another date into the hat – 30th October.
The tipster claims to have seen an internal memo at O2 instructing store managers to be ready for an October 30th release of Palm’s webOS phone. True? It would tally with a previously spotted O2 Germany web banner touting an October release, though.
PalmWebOSBlog also claim to have seen pricing guidelines for the Palm Pre. According to their source, the Palm Pre will be priced identically to the iPhone – although they couldn’t confirm if this meant the iPhone 3G or 3GS.
O2 announced their exclusive Palm Pre deal back in July and we have been wondering how they would handle it alongside their other ‘premium’ handset. Matching the prices does seem a reasonable tactic, although bad news if you were hoping to get some top-grade smartphone action at a lower price than the 3Gs.
30th October 2009 (TBC)| £TBA | Palm (via PalmWebOSBlog.com)
