The Sony Reader Pocket eBook that just got the nod to go on sale in Blighty hasn’t hit bookshelves yet, but we’ve jumped the queue and nabbed one for a go. Want to see how this mini Kindle killer looks in the flesh? Read on for all the photos.
Along with the Sony Reader Touch, the Sony Reader Pocket finally got official for the UK: it’s an ace 5-inch e-reader with an E Ink display that doesn’t drain your eyes from staring. After playing with the Touch, it doesn’t quite feel natural having to click through on a control pad, but the page refreshes are crazy fast and the screen looks much more like paper than the Cool-er’s. No migraines here, that’s for sure.
At under 200 notes, the Sony Reader Pocket’s going head to head with the likes of the Cool-er and Elonex e-readers in a bid to replace your paperbacks. The screen is slightly smaller than the already launched rivals’ and there’s no SD card slot for bolstering your library, but it makes up for it with the portability factor. Sony wants you to slap this in your man bag and go, without a second thought, and we can see its point. See if you do too with our Sony Reader Pocket hands-on photos right here!
