Last week we glimpsed a slither of a tablet gadget running Android with looks to die for, and now we know what it is. Pocketables has confirmed it’s a concept device from Chinese chip maker Rockchip capable of chucking out 720p HD video, suggesting the deepthroat who leaked the images was pulling a Lenovo on Android-heads. Yup, it’s not coming out.

It’s not all bad news though. Rockchip provides the kit for media player players like Archos and iriver, so like the Google-fueled Creative Zii Egg, we could still see plenty of companies flog their own take on it. Hey, maybe we’re looking at Archos’ second-generation Android tablet right here.
