Motorola AndroidMotorola’s been tipped to jump aboard the Android bandwagon for yonks, but it’s finally about to climb on and shout about it: an Android-flavoured prezzer hosted by the troubled American company is going down next month. Want to know when Moto rips the covers off? And will it be able to pull off a Palm?

Motorola’s just sent out an invite to a press event in San Francisco on 10 September, with the Android logo clearly stamped on the image. There are no lime-green hints this time, just a straight up sign that Motorola’s Android handsets are destined to be outed that day.

Will it be enough though? It’s been a long time since the heady days of Motorola’s RAZR success and there have been rumours that Moto has been trying to flog its handset division for years now. We’ve caught sight of a few supposed Motorola Android blowers, like the royal blue Morrison, that could be made official shortly, and they’re none too impressive.

We’d love to see Motorola turn its fortunes around, just like Palm has done with the Pre, but to do that we’re going to need to see more kit like the ZN50 get a broader release too. Fingers crossed.
