Is a Spotify Facebook app about to roll out onto the procrastination platform? Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s been busy telling the whole world how much he loves the free music streaming service. Just around the time talks with the start-up have picked up. Coincidence?
Social butterly billionaire Zuckerberg just posted a status update on the site, declaring “Spotify is so good”. A throw away line perhaps, and Spotify founder Daniel Ek promised an app months ago, but TechCrunch says talks between the two web 2.0 companies have picked up in a big way in the last week, suggesting a partnership is just around the corner.
That’s not all though. Facebook’s also been bankrolled by Chinese tycoon Li Ka-Shing, who just appointed INQ’s CEO on to the board of Spotify after pumping $50m (£30m) into the tune chucking app. And INQ just so happens to make phones with fantastic Facebook integration. How curious.
A Spotify Facebook app that works on INQ phones? You can already share Spotify URLs, but perhaps a native Facebook app would show album cover art and related links too, as well as let you share playlists.
