Nokia 5230 music mobile unveiled

Nokia World is fast approaching and the Nokia 5230 is the next announcement from the folks at Espoo ahead of the show. Dressed up in iPod nano-esque colours, the Nokia 5230 is a touchscreen mobile that’ll belt out the tunes for hours on end and stuffs in all the vital smartphone specs on the cheap. Read on for the in and outs.

Chomping at the bit for a Nokia 5800 but worried the tube telephone is a bit out of your price range? The Nokia 5230 is here to sate your music mobile desires (steady now), packing in HSDPA, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 3.5mm audio jack and stonking 33 hour battery life for choon playback, all for just €149 (£130) on launch.

There’s also A-GPS and Bluetooth on board the Nokia 5230, plus a microSD slot for expandable storage. Sure, Nokia’s cut corners on the Nokia 5230 camera (2 megapixels lack a punch), but there’s no arguing with that crunch-friendly cost. And just look at the pretty colours!

There’s no word on launch date yet for the Nokia 5230 – expect more at Nokia World come September – but we’ve got fingers and limbs crossed that the UK will be one of the countries that gets a Comes With Music edition Nokia 5230.
