Wii FitIf you’re so keen to replicate the gym experience with Wii Fit that you’d buy extra peripherals, we’d say you might as well go to the gym, but if you absolutely have to break a sweat digitally, there’s good news: gym Fitness First is launching its own brand of fitness gear for consoles.

Fitness First is already the largest gym network in the world, but it’s about to open up a branch in your living room too. It’s signed a deal with Blaze to market fitnress peripherals for games like Wii Fit, eventually across all consoles.

Shudderingly called “exer-gaming” accessories, the first batch of Fitness First gear is aimed at Wii Fit fans. As well as a silicon skin for better grip, there’s a Wii Fit Yoga Mat, a set of wrist and ankle weights and a full “Wii Fit Workout Kit” that’ll get you burning calories like an outback fire, all whilst looking like a cross between Tron and the girl from Flashdance.

We’ve often wondered what would happen if high street chains got into video games, but now it’s actually happening. Just be grateful there isn’t a price or release date for this cash-in yet.
