Nokia’s E series is in serious danger of eclipsing the mighty N series. And the slimline Nokia E52 is really leading the fight. The latest business blower from the Finnish phone fanciers, it’s a breeze to setup, great to use and has a longer life than a pint of minging UHT milk. Read our full Nokia E52 review to get the full skinny.
There was a time when business phones were a bit, well, boring. But the Nokia E52 is anything but. At just 9.9mm it’s slimmer than your average catwalk chanteuse. But that waif–like physique houses some full fat features to sate hard–working City–types and tech spec junkies.
With HSDPA, HSUPA and Wi–Fi, this is a web fanatics dream. Dispense with the shonky Nokia browser and nab Opera Mini and pages will load in record time. Likewise, grabbing email is a breeze. Hence the E in Nokia E52. Adding a Gmail account is as simple as slapping in your username and password. Load up your corporate email just by tapping in the settings. We stuck our accounts on the homepage easily, keeping us bang up–to–date with low rent celeb gossip and those all–important spreadsheets.
Like all E–series mobiles, the Nokia E52 rocks a monster battery life. With a quoted standby time of 23 days, this is a phone for taking on long haul trips sans the charger. In truth, we got six days of mail dabbling, web mooching and call making before we had to slap it into the wall. That’s astonishingly good.
The numeric keypad is a joy to use too. The buttons are big and chunky and great to the touch. Surprisingly, it doesn’t hamper emailing. But if you’re a proper email warhorse, you might want the QWERTY–touting Nokia E75.
The Nokia E52 is arguably the best Nok out there right now. It has the requisite media skills, with a 3.2MP camera, but in terms of web and mail, you really will struggle to find a better phone for your busy schedule.
