HTC doesn’t manufacture smartphones; it lets them breed like rabbits. Here’s yet another one to keep an eye on, especially if you’re a Windows Mobile fan: it’s the HTC Mega. The first pics have just burrowed out of their hutch and escaped on to the internet. Read on for all the rest of the specs.
HTC Mega doesn’t look a world apart from its numerous smartphone cousins. This one does stand out for aiming at the cheaper end of the market and it’ll be running the new Windows Mobile 6.5 as well.
It’ll be putting WinMo’s new user interface through its paces too – the 2.8-inch QVGA screen is a touchscreen and there are no QWERTY keys to fall back on. HTC is including its own TouchFLO interface as well. Additional specs include a 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS and HSDPA. There’s little on-board memory to rely on but you can expand it via Micro-SD.
No word on exact prices or release date right now, but with WinMo 6.5 hoping to be going toe to toe with iPhone and Android this Christmas, we doubt the wait will be too long.
