Chances are you or one of your pals is still rocking a Nokia 6300 Classic. It’s the mobile that’s got everywhere in the past couple of years. Loved by those on a budget, Nokia has finally decided to retire it off, ushering in the age of the Nokia 6303 Classic. So can it beat down its older brother? Read our full Nokia 6303 Classic review and we’ll tell you.
Just because the Nokia 6303 Classic is a basic blower doesn’t mean it’s a slouch. Far from it. This mid–level blower rocks a 3.2MP camera, Opera Mini for web browsing, Nokia Maps and a battery life to sate the biggest of chatterboxes.
In fact, in every way, it lives up to expectations and sees off the old Nokia 6300 Classic. The Nokia 6303 Classic is a tough customer, its brushed stainless steel body able to take endless knocks and scratches. That means it’s ideal if you want a good looking phone, but find yourself in doughty places like building sites or just the great outdoors. It’s no Land Rover S1, but it’s a darn sight more stylish.
The Nokia 6303 works like a dream too. The 3.2MP camera takes capable snaps in good light, although you’ll want to keep hold of your compact for nights out on the sauce. Likewise the keypad is firm and responsive.
The Symbian S40 software is, naturally, easy to use and less confusing than the S60 variant found on the likes of the Nokia N97. The 6303 Classic touts Nokia Maps as part of its S40 OS. And while GPS isn’t on board, meaning you’ll need an antenna, it’s great if you need to work out just where you’re heading before you leave the house.
In all the Nokia 6303 Classic is the perfect recession buster. Cheap at £100 on PAYG, hardy thanks to its metal frame and full of enough features to satisfy mobile snobs, it’s an ace first phone, or perfect as back up for your smartie.
