nokia-5800-navigation-edition4Nokia has revealed a yet another version of its crowd-drawing touchscreen handset, the new Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition. As the name suggests, this one differs from its musical cousin by laying on the navigation features, including an entire lifetime of voice-guided Drive and Walk navigation licenses for your region. Read on to find out more.

The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition aims to put your standalone sat-nav to shame, so you’ll find and in-car charger and Nokia Car Kit in the box.

The Drive and Walk services include voice-guidance, traffic alerts and automatic re-routing, and because you’re signed up for life, you’ll won’t be shelling out each year. Okay, you probably won’t keep the same handset till you’re old and grey, but if you hang on to it for only a few years, you’ll have saved yourself a good deal of cash.

You’ll also get Nokia’s Ovi Maps pre-installed, which provides points of interest, local info, weather and nearby services such as restaurants and bars.

Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2009. The price is set for 285 Euros (around £250) although that may of course be subject to contracts.
