Asus Eee KeyboardIt’s been a long and winding road since the Asus Eee Keyboard first debuted at CES in January. The glossy PC-in-a-peripheral wowed us at the keynote, but since then, the media centre has suffered slip after slip. Now though, it really is almost here: the Asus Eee Keyboard is being lined up for an October release.

Tech gossip-monger DigiTimes, based in Asus’s Taiwan homeland, has it on good account that the Asus Eee Keyboard will launch in October, just in time to find its way under trees and tellies for Crimbo.

Asus Eee Keyboard unveiled!

The report claims that the Asus Eee Keyboard will sell for $400-500 (a healthy £240-300). Want to know why we’re so excited about the Asus Eee Keyboard? Have a look at the photos: the 5-inch touchscreen running Windows controls all your media, and it can even squirt video out to your TV wirelessly.

As an aside, the report also said that an Eee Box with NVIDIA Ion inside to belch out HD video was on the way, but Asus will need to drop the Eee Box’s price big time to replace the Acer Aspire Revo in our hearts.
