The Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS, the shutterbugger’s latest compact camera with touchscreen control, is barely off the factory line, but we’ve already swooped in and nabbed one to prod with our own digits. Want to see it in action? Read on for all the unboxing pics!
Considering Canon’s stuffed a 12.1MP sensor inside the Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS, it’s a given you’ll be taking great snaps with the wide-angle lens snapper. But software is key, and Canon’s not failed on that part: the touchscreen controls are intuitive and helpful, especially if you’re grabbing shots at a night event and need to find the right setting.
You can focus on objects and areas with a tap of your finger, but our fave bit of panache in the Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS is the ability to swoop through all your snaps on the LCD screen with swipes to and fro. Yes, it’s iPhone-esque, but it’s great for showing off your shots on the fly.
Build-wise, the Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS feels just the right size for your pocket, but despite its slim build, that screen is large enough to control with ease. The Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS hits stores next months, but you can peep it up close and personal first right here in our hands-on gallery!
