PS3 SlimWe’re just hours away from the Sony press conference at Gamescom, and it looks like everything is now falling in to place: two online stores are already listing the rumoured PS3 Slim for pre-order! Want to know what it’s packing? Read on and see.

Two online stores, Kmart and Sears (Though owned by the same company) in the US have put the PS3 Slim up for pre-order, and if the specs and pricing are true, shops will have iPhone-esque queues come launch day.

The PS3 Slim supposedly comes with a 120GB HDD, Blu-ray, HDMI and 1080p support and will ship for just $300 (£181) from 24 August. That launch date sounds a bit optimistic, but it’s otherwise very believable. Expect Sony to come up with its own arbitrary separate price for the UK PS3 Slim though.

So, has Sony suffered yet another epic leak, or is this all an enormous hoodwink? We’ll find out shortly, so stay tuned.

“Expect Sony to come up with its own arbitrary separate price for the UK PS3 Slim though.”

People should get their news elsewhere, clearly this site is run by clueless idiots. UK VAT is more than 4x that of most US states, in addition Sony have to pass on European import duties (another 5%) on anything manufacturered outside Europe.

Even the dumbest tech journalist knows this, so why continue to bait Sony haters with your false stories of direct pound for dollar conversions (which never happen with ANY manufacturer).

    US iPod Touch 16GB = $299 (£180)
    UK iPod Touch 16GB = £207

All US Prices are quoted EXCLUDING sales tax, all UK prices are INCLUDING sales tax. I suggest you lot get an education.

Ahh finally the PS3 Slim. After checking out my friends gigantic PS3 I decided to hold off and get the Slim. I figured they would release it eventually. Woot!

Will the price of the regular PS3 go down now?
