ps-store1Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation video store will be landing in the UK this November. Already outed by a Sony exec last week, SCEE’s new top man Andrew House has just given over all the details during the Big S’s Gamescom press conference. Read on and get bang up–to–date.

Sony’s press conference is well underway at Gamescom. But while we wait with baited breath for news of a PS3 Slim, Sony has announced that the PlayStation Video store will be heading to the UK in November.

The new service is set to offer movies in HD and SD, and will be available on both the PS3 and the PSP. Flicks on offer will include the Sony–mad Bond films, alongside Star Trek, Batman and Harry Potter movies.

For now, it will be movies only, but ‘local content’ will be up for grabs too in the future. So that means Come Dine With Me on your PSPgo could be a reality come Christmas. Sony will serve up more details, including pricing, nearer the time.

Stay tuned for news on the PS3 Slim and other Gamescom news as it breaks.
